The three things I love this month all have to do with my eyes. Sometimes it feels like nothing on my body is aging as fast as my eyes.

Obviously, I have presbyopia, the age-related condition where you can’t see things close up. I am also being monitored for glaucoma, I have very dry eyes, and I get chalazions from meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD). Not to mention the baggy skin and wrinkles! 😆

As Bette Davis said, “Getting old is not for sissies.”

In addition to the wipes, drops, and supplements I take and have mentioned in other blogs, I have found a few other things that I use around my eyes that I really like.

The first is a heated eye mask. The one I have is older and has a cord, which is awkward, but if I get another one, I would probably go for something like this one.  The one I have has three temperature settings, as well as an automatic shut-off after 15 minutes or so for safety. Believe me, you need it because it can put me to sleep so fast! It also warms the oils in my eyelids and helps with the dryness. You can get ones that “massage” the eyes, but I have not tried that.

The second is an under-eye sunscreen from DRMTLGY. The area under the eye has skin that is much thinner than the rest of the face. It has fewer cell layers, less muscle and fat, fewer oil glands, and less structural protein. This product protects from the sun, evens out discoloration, and is hydrating. It won’t work miracles, but you don’t need much (about half a pump), and it does seem to stay put.

The third thing is very frivolous: an under-eye mask from ABIB, a Korean skincare line that you can get at a local store here in Calgary or online. They are cooling, hydrating, and just a little treat when you want to relax.

Let me know if you have used any of these products and what you think in the comments below!
