“The quality of your relationships determines the quality of your life”

Do you agree?

The above quote is from Esther Perel , a relationship expert. And, of course, she is not just talking about romantic relationships.

I obviously believe that good physical health also determines the quality of your life but I get what she is saying. Mental health and physical health go hand in hand.

My three favorite things are podcasts and posts all about love and relationships this month.

I promised a friend I would send her this first podcast so here I am sending it to all my friends!

This is a podcast called “Monica and Jess Love Boys” and the premise is that Monica (a straight woman) and Jess (a gay man) interview relationship experts on how to find love. This is episode seven where they talk to Esther Perel. It is kinda long but entertaining and illuminating if you are interested in the subject. If you want a Coles notes version of Esther’ s take on relationships, here is one of her TED talks called “The secret to desire in a long-term relationship.”

The second podcast is called “This Changes Everything” and it is a fun look at dating and relationships with Therapy Jeff and Sarah Rice. This one is called “Ten tips to update your dating profile” but they talk about EVERYTHING in all the episodes.

The last one is a podcast is with Nedra Glover Tawwab, a therapist who talks about healthy boundaries in relationships. She has written a couple of books and I first found her on instagram.

Here are some of her podcasts. I recommend episode six “Be on the Journey of Maintaining Relationships” about making new friendships. She talks about friendship building as an act of self care.
