This month I have three things that solve two or more problems at one time!
The first is maybe the best one since it helps with soooo many things post-menopause. Sometimes referred to as vaginal estrogen therapy, this favorite thing requires a prescription. Your doctor can tell you if it’s right for you, but this study concludes, “the use of intravaginal estrogen can offer significant benefit with low risk.”
One benefit is improved urinary tract health — it helps with both incontinence and frequent urination. Anecdotally, a friend says it has lessened the nighttime trips to the bathroom for her. Its use also increases sexual satisfaction 🙌 by improving blood flow and lubrication. Did you know that since people are living longer, women can spend up to 40 years post-menopausal? Whether you’re solo or with another person or both (!) good sex is part of good health and joy! IMHO ☺️
My second favorite thing this month is a concealer that has sunscreen in it. The Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41 is so good I’m actually going to repurchase it. I’m not usually a big concealer fan, but my under-eye area needs a little extra protection from the sun. Of course, it also has the added bonus of covering the hollows and dark circles. It’s not heavy, and the single-pump applicator is so easy to use. I like the medium shade.
The last one is a blush from ELF in the color Caribbean. In the summer, “sunkissed” for me looks a little red — like a sunburn 👩🦰. This blush seems like a crazy color in the package, but it sheers out well and can be used on the lips as well (with a little bit of lip balm). It’s sort of hard to blend, and the reviews say to use the Putty Blush Brush for best results, but I just used my fingers. Start with just a little, because it is pigmented. It reminds me of a very red “rouge” my mom used to have — do you remember those?
